CONFIRMATION:
This past Wednesday was a fun night with the movie "Walk Across Egypt" shown in the fellowship hall. This next Wednesday is faith leadership from 6:30 - 8:00 in the fellowship hall with the topic being THE APOSTLES' CREED. Thank you to the parents who have joined us the past couple of Wednesdays to assist with group discussion and team development. The youth are preparing their faith, joy and finances to attend Youth Quake on March 23rd - 25th. We have approximately 11 youth wanting to attend. The cost is $145 per youth which includes registration and lodging. For those attending who cannot afford the entire registration cost, we are asking for $50 to be paid and the remainder registration amount be funded by fundraising efforts and congregational support. Please consider sponsoring a youth with any amount that meets your needs. Also, please participate in our upcoming fundraising events by purchasing your Super Bowl Subs (see the enclosed flyer) and joining us for Lenten meals. Checks can be made payable to Trinity Lutheran Youth. Your financial support, prayers, smiles and encouragement are greatly appreciated. Please contact Melinda Pedersen at 715-354-3107 or Barb Kleven at 715-834-9988 with any questions.

STEWARDSHIP

OUTREACH

BELOW ARE THE CORRECT ITEMS TO BE INCLUDED IN THE KITS.  THE LIST IS INCORRECT IN THE TLCW BOOKLET.

PERSONAL (HEALTH) KITS are being collected for Lutheran World
Relieve.  A personal kit can help women, children, and men who are refugees and must flee their homes quickly and often do not have time to pack essential items.  These kits help maintain personal hygiene while living in exile.

Each kit should include the following items:

o    1 light to medium weight, bath-size towel (approx. 52x 27 or smaller), dark color recommended.
o    2 bath-size bar of soap (4 to 5 oz), any brand, in original packaging.
o    1 adult-size toothbrush in its original packaging (Toothbrush multi-packs may be sued by sealing an individual toothbrush in a business-size                     envelope; no plastic bags or wrap.)
o    1 sturdy comb (wide tooth preferred)
o    1 metal nail clippers with or without file attached

Please wrap all items in the towel, tie securely with a ribbon or yarn.

SEWING KITS Teach a person to sew and youve given them tools they can use to earn an income, support their family, and break out of poverty.  Many of the thousands of Fabric Kits LWR distributes are used in vocational training programs to teach young men and women useful and marketable sewing skills.

Two pieces of cotton or cotton-blend fabric (no knits or 100% polyester). Each piece should match one of the sizes below:
2¼ yards of 60 wide fabric, or
3 yards of 44 wide fabric, or
4 yards of 36 wide fabric

Two spools of neutral-colored, general purpose thread, 250-300 yards each

Fabric should have no stains or holes. Pieces do not need to match in size or color/pattern. Fold thread and one piece of fabric inside second fabric piece and tie with yarn, sturdy string, ribbon or a strip of fabric. Do not enclose the Fabric Kit or any of its contents in a plastic bag.

BACK PACK PROGRAM:  Join the Birchwood Area Food Pantrys Back Pack Program.  Be a sponsor or a volunteer.  You can sponsor a child at Birchwood School and provide weekend food for $21.25 a month for the school year, or volunteer to pack up food for distribution.  Have questions or need more information?  Call Helen at 715-354-7755.
